IPS Infection Prevention Conference 2018

If you are involved in infection prevention in your hospital, clinic, care home or workplace, then this year's IPS Infection Prevention Conference is not to be missed.

Taking place in Glasgow from 30th September to 2nd October 2018, its objective is to further the IPS mission statement: No patient is harmed by a preventable infection.

By providing a host of learning opportunities, the infection prevention conference aims to motivate and inspire delegates to find ways to improve their local infection prevention and control programmes and reduce infection risks.

To help do this, the conference will include presentations from leading experts into the latest and emerging infection threats, as well as into cutting-edge research that can help improve performance and enhance client outcomes.

What’s more, all presentations are mapped against IPS competences to support each delegate’s personal development and career progression.

In addition to the presentations, there will also be an infection prevention product show, meet-the-expert sessions and specialist streams on topics such as wound care.

Delegates attending the main conference can also attend the one-day conferences on ‘Infection Prevention in Care and at Home’ and ‘Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Resistance’.

The former one-day conference is aimed at helping those who provide services for people in care and those receiving care at home to achieve excellence in infection prevention practice.

The ‘Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Resistance’ conference takes an in-depth look at ways to address current or potential risks from environmental, animal and human perspectives.

With sessions including ‘Treatment options for multidrug resistant gram-negative bacteria’ and ‘Reducing antibiotic overuse in hospitals’, the programme for the Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Resistance’ conference promises a wealth of useful insights and learning opportunities.
